Timing Belt & Oil Pick Up Health Checks

Want to know the condition of your belt and oil pick up before you make the decision to replace the belt? 

Look no Further than the new service NorthWest Engines offer. 

A timing belt in reasonable condition can still start to degrade enough to leave small particles in the pick up strainer and over time these particles cause reducing oil flow and will eventually completely block the pick up causing loss of oil pressure within the engine.  

We only ever recommend the belt or any other parts are replaced when we can see that there is sufficient degradation of the belt or other parts that would severely limit the engines lifespan and cause further damage, this is supported by photographic and video evidence in all cases so that you, the customer, can be reassured that we are recommending the best option in each case.

The small belt particles will be clearly seen building up in the oil pump pickup well before it is blocked completely. The point of assessing this early is to minimize the damage caused to the rest of the engine internals.,

Here at NorthWest Engines we offer 2 options for having the timing belt checked. 

We would only recommend getting the belt checked on its own if the belt had been changed within the last 12 months. 

This takes up to 1 hour to complete and comes with photos and videos along side the report. 

Cost - £85.80 including VAT

This service will check the health of both the timing belt and oil pick up. It also includes draining the engine of all the oil so new oil and oil filter will also be provided. 

This takes 2-3 hours to complete and comes with photos and videos along side the report. 

Cost - £275 including VAT

If we recommend getting your belt replaced and you would like to go ahead at the time that we have your vehicle, we will not charge you for the health check.
