If you purchase an item or service from us, you accept all our terms and conditions, if you do not accept our terms and conditions then do not buy.
1. All our engines are sold on an exchange basis, unless agreed otherwise, we do require a surcharge payment to be made prior to the engine being delivered. The surcharge is then returned upon the return of the old engine.
2. Exchange/surcharge engine units need to be supplied in the exact same manner the reconditioned or used engine has been supplied, a COMPLETE bare block without any ancillaries such as seized injectors, if not, this could affect the amount of the surcharge returned. This also includes any holes or damage to the engine block.
3. In the event of a failure of an engine supplied by NorthWest Engines, we require the third party to remove the engine from the vehicle ONLY! Do not strip the engine! Doing so will void any warranty. Once removed NorthWest Engines will organise collection, diagnose the issue(S) and aim to return the engine repaired or alternately send a replacement engine. Northwest Engines will not cover any costs involved in removing the faulty, incorrect engine.
4. If we have supplied and or fitted an engine and a fault occurs, a valid claim must be made within the specified warranty period. It is the customers responsibility to arrange the delivery of the vehicle / engine back to ourselves for repair/replacement. Northwest engines will not cover the costs for any shipping or recovery charges involved.
5. Northwest engines will prioritise warranty work however all customers must allow at least 3 working days during busy periods for us to look at the issue(s) reported.
6. It is the customers responsibility to ensure any accessible seals / wearable parts are replaced before fitting any used engine. This does include Rear main oil seals, spark plugs, thermostats and water pumps. These items are not covered under any warranty and need to be replaced before fitting the engine.
7. Any 1.0 Ecoboost engine supplied but not fitted by NorthWest Engines must be serviced at the time of fitting using the factory specified grade of oil. Any reconditioned engine supplied or fitted by us must have an oil and filter change using the factory specified grade of oil within 1000 miles or 1 month (whichever comes first) of either fitting by us or purchasing from us. All customers must obtain a copy of the invoice / receipt which must clearly show the date of service, Vehicle Registration and type of oil used. Failure to provide northwest Engines with a copy of this and/ or missing any information shall void any warranty claim(s) made.
8. ONLY 5W20 OIL IS TO BE USED FOR ALL 1.0 ECOBOOST ENGINES. Failure to use this oil will void any warranty in all cases.
9. All vehicles must be collected within 5 days of being completed. If we cannot reach the customer after 7 days, the vehicle will be put into storage and customers will be charged £25 per day of storage.
10. Any part/engine not collected after 14 days will be resold or disposed of.
11. Where an engine/ vehicle is returned to us and the fault /issue is not covered under warranty, such as (faulty injectors, broken turbo) or a fitment issue via third party such as (no fuel bucket inserted, faulty vac pump fitted) the customer will be charged an hourly rate plus parts in all cases.
12. Engine warranty will only cover the engine block, sump and internal components excluding the cylinder head (cracking of the cylinder head is a manufacturing defect and not covered by any warranty). Any engine ancillaries purchased separately will be covered by the standard 3 months warranty.
13. We do not offer any sort of warranty where the vehicles have been remapped or where catalytic converters/DPF units have been removed or modified. This also includes the use of towing.
14. We do not cover loss of time, recovery, use of another vehicle or other charges incurred. NorthWest Engines do not accept any subsequent loss such as car hire or loss of earnings.
15. NorthWest Engines do not offer cash refunds under any circumstances, refunds will be given in the form of a credit note within 7 days.
16. Where a part or service is found to be faulty, incorrect or similar we must in all cases be given the opportunity to rectify, repair or replace in the first instance, where we are not given this opportunity, we will not refund in any case.
17. All returns must be returned to NorthWest Engines, within 7 days of payment.
18. All parts Shall be inspected prior to fitment and fitted by a suitably qualified mechanic. 19. NorthWest Engines are not responsible for any labour charges incurred during the fitment or removal of allegedly faulty (or incorrectly purchased/supplied) parts.
20. NorthWest Engines will not be liable for any accidents or damage that may arise from the improper inspection and/or fitting of parts fitted by a third party that have been purchased from us.
21. “Working day” shall mean any day excluding Saturday, Sunday and public holidays. 22. All engines that have undergone reconditioning, including but not limited to main bearings, con rod bearing or piston rings shall be subject to a running in period of 500 miles, during this period the engine speed must not exceed 2500rpm at any time and must not be subjected to full power acceleration under any circumstances, the vehicle must not be used to tow under any circumstances as this can lead to stress on the new engine parts and premature failure, once this 500 mile running in period has been reached normal driving can be resumed, the company shall accept no liability for death or personal injury caused by the failure to adhere to the terms of the warranty unless caused directly by the company’s own negligence.
23. The company accepts no liability in respect of failure to supply or other interruptions caused by matters beyond the reasonable control of the company, including but without limitation, strikes, lockouts, civil disputes, acts of God, pandemics, war or actions by third parties.
24. Collection of exchange engine: all exchange engines must be strapped down safely on a pallet and drained of all oil. Failure to do so will result in refusal of collection by collection company and a £35 recollection fee charged.
25. For Supply only Engines: It is the customers responsibility to check the engine for damages done in transit when delivered. The courier will wait for 15 minutes whilst checks are done. Once the engine is checked and signed for, any future inspections which result in damages done in transit being found, will result in an £150 excess fee which will be the customers responsibility to pay.
26. All 1L Ecoboost replacement timing belt kits come with 2 Year warranty.
27. All Used bare 1L ecoboost engines supplied only & supplied and fitted, come with a standard 3 months warranty (excluding the cracking of the cylinder head). If the timing belt kit has been replaced, the timing belt kit and associated labour will come with 2 year warranty.
28. All Reconditioned Bare 1L ecoboost engines supply only, comes with 6 Months warranty (excluding the cracking of the cylinder head)
29. All Reconditioned Bare 1L ecoboost engines supplied and fitted comes with 2 Year warranty (excluding the cracking of the cylinder head).
30. Vehicles that have had a Reconditioned bare engine supplied and fitted by Northwest Engines Rochdale LTD, Must have the oil and filter changed by Northwest Engines Rochdale LTD every 6 months or 6,000 miles (whichever comes first) and follow our servicing guideline for the 2 year warranty to be valid.
Every 90 day engine warranty we provide includes the terms and conditions listed above as well as the following:
Engines must be correctly fitted with new oil, specific grade as per manufacturer specifications, (1.0 ecoboost must be 5W20 oil) oil filters & spark plugs. Any failure to follow these terms will invalidate this warranty.
Engines are sold as bare engines with no ancillaries.

North West Engines warranty does NOT cover: Gaskets, Oils, Seals, Cam Belts, Timing Belts and Fan Belts, Any ancillary parts or damage caused by misuse, improper fitting, neglect, accident or continued use.

Surcharge Fee
When you buy an engine from NorthWest Engines it's sold on an exchange basis.
For this to happen, your old engine must be in a serviceable state.
We understand there will be general wear and tear however, the block must have no holes in for it to be serviceable.
The surcharge fee is £200.
It will be refunded within 2-3 working days after we have received your old engine and it has been stripped & inspected.
For example, if you buy an engine for £1600, £200 will automatically be added on for the surcharge fee making the purchase price £1800. £200 will then be refunded aslong as the following requirements are met.
The old engine must be a complete bare engine, inclusive of all the internal components
E.g crank, cams, timing covers, pistons etc
If the engine block is damaged and/or not serviceable and/or parts missing then the £200 surcharge fee will not be refunded.

Pallet Deliveries
In the UK your Pallet Delivery will dispatched within 2 working days.
Please make sure someone is available to sign for the goods as a failed delivery will either mean you will have to pick up the item yourself or you will incur £25
Redelivery charges £25 will be deducted from refundable surcharge fee.
The courier will deliver your part the next working day after dispatch between 8.30AM – 5.30PM. Please check the condition before signing accepted in good condition.
Before Signing
This is important because the courier waiver liability once the item has been signed for.
If the driver will not let you examine the item or remove the packaging please sign for the item as DAMAGED, put this by your signature. Please follow these instructions.
