Engine Warranty Terms and Conditions

Every 90 day engine warranty we provide includes the terms and conditions listed above as well as the following:

Engines must be correctly fitted with new oil, specific grade as per manufacturer specifications, (1.0 ecoboost must be 5W20 oil) oil filters & spark plugs. Any failure to follow these terms will invalidate this warranty.

Engines are sold as bare engines with no ancillaries.

In the event of an engine failure, we would require the third party to remove the engine from the vehicle ONLY! Do not strip the engine! Doing so will void any warranty. Once removed NorthWest Engines will organise collection, diagnose the issue(s) and aim to return the engine repaired or alternatively send a replacement engine. Northwest Engines will not cover any costs involved in removing the faulty, incorrect engine.

If we have supplied and or fitted an engine and a fault / warranty claim must be made, it is the customer’s responsibility to arrange the delivery of the vehicle / engine back to ourselves for repair/replacement. Northwest engines will not cover the costs for any shipping or recovery charges involved.

Northwest engines will prioritise warranty work however all customers must allow 3 working days during busy periods for us to look at the issue(s) reported.

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure any seals / wearable parts are replaced before fitting any used engine. This does include Rear main oil seals, spark plugs, thermostats and water pumps. These items are not covered under any warranty and need to be replaced before fitting the engine.

Any 1.0 Ecoboost vehicle / engine which leaves us must be serviced within 3 months or 1,000 miles (whichever comes first) of the date purchased / fitted. All customers must obtain a copy of the invoice / receipt which must clearly show the date of service, Vehicle Registration and type of oil used. Failure to provide northwest Engines with a copy of this and/ or missing any information shall void any warranty claim(s) made.

All vehicles must be collected within 5 days of being completed. If we cannot reach the customer after 7 days, the vehicle will be put into storage and customers will be charged £25 per day of storage.

Where an engine/ vehicle is returned to us and the fault /issue is not covered under warranty, such as (faulty injectors, broken turbo) or a fitment issue such as (no fuel bucket inserted, faulty vac pump fitted) the customer will be charged an hourly rate plus parts in all cases.

Engine warranty will only cover the engine and internals including cylinder head, block and sump. Any engine ancillaries purchased separately will be covered by the standard 3 months warranty.

All engines that have undergone reconditioning including but not limited to main bearings, con rod bearing or piston rings shall be subject to a running period of 500 miles, during this period the engine speed must not exceed 2500rpm at any time and must not be subjected to full power acceleration under any circumstances, the vehicle must not be used to tow under any circumstances as this can lead to stress on the new engine parts and failure, once this 500 mile period has been reached normal driving can be resumed, the company shall accept no liability for death or personal injury caused by the failure to adhere to the terms of the warranty unless caused directly by the company’s own negligence.

North West Engines warranty does NOT cover: Gaskets, Oils, Seals, Cam Belts, Timing Belts and Fan Belts, Any ancillary parts or damage caused by misuse, improper fitting, neglect, accident or continued use.
